The Blackbox M16 is a modern high-specification headphone which uses pioneering ANR technology from Phitek Systems to eliminate unwanted background noise.

What is ANR Technology ?

ANR (Active Noise Reduction) works by electronically coupling one sound wave with another sound wave of the same amplitude and wave pattern but the opposite phase to itself. This has the effect of virtually cancelling out the 'noise' created by the first sound wave. The Blackbox M16 Headphones incorporate a tiny microphone that picks up noises that stray into the ear cup from outside. A digital microprocessor takes that 'information' and uses it to create a sound wave that is effectively the 'mirror-image' of the first 'incoming' sound wave.
